2022-05-31

The linguistic journal Orð og tungais now accepting submissions. Manuscripts should be submitted to the editors by September 1st, 2022, for publication in the 2023 issue.

Orð og tunga is a peer-reviewed journal, published annually by The Árni Magnússon Institute for Icelandic Studies. It contains articles in Icelandic, Scandinavian and English on language and linguistics, in particular on lexicology, lexicography, onomastics, terminology, and language policy and planning studies.

The forthcoming issue will focus on swearing and profanities. We especially encourage speakers at international workshop on swearing in Scandinavia (SwiSca 7) to submit papers based on their conference presentations. As before, we also welcome papers on other topics that have to do with language and linguistics.

The maximum length of a peer-reviewed article is 8.000 words. Authors are kindly requested to adhere to the journal guidelines published on the journal’s home page (ordogtunga.arnastofnun.is). Abstracts and previous issues of the journal are also available on the same website.

Note, that the journal has an open access policy. By delivering a manuscript for the upcoming issue, the author agrees that the paper will be published electronically as well as in printed version.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact the editors.
